Description: GPI designed this 440-acre world class golf and recreational facility. A key element of site engineering was the remediation and stabilization of severely sloped bluffs as the project was built on an old sand mine. The course was designed to utilize minimal synthetic pest control and incorporated innovative use of recycled water from the Town’s adjacent landfill to conserve water.

Harbor Links Golf Course Facility

Description: GPI provided planning and engineering for the Melford Community project to create an integrated mixed-use development. GPI engineered the site using the principles of LEED ND (Neighborhood Design) to achieve energy efficiencies and neighborhood conservation.

Melford Community

Description: GPI was the design engineer for FDOT’s cost saving initiative (CSI) for the Alton Road Project. GPI was responsible for the relocation and sizing of the stormwater pump stations and adjustment of stormwater structures and piping to route stormwater to the pump station.

Miami Beach Pump Stations

Client/Owner: Suffolk County Community College

Description: GPI provided civil engineering for a new 68,000 sf state-of-the-art science building. The building and site followed the latest precepts of sustainable design and construction. The site concept developed included 100% storm drainage recharge for the project site as well as other campus areas that contribute storm flow to the area.

New Life Sciences Building

Description: GPI provided site planning, engineering and construction documents for a new multi-level Target store and 5 level parking structure located within a highly urbanized area in Rockville, Maryland. GPI provided design of public water and sewer, grading, underground stormwater management facilities, road design, and sediment control.

Rockville Maryland Target

Client/Owner: Solar Liberty Energy Systems, Inc.

Description: GPI provided site planning and engineering design for a 40-acre, approximately 10-megawatt solar production facility. GPI coordinated with the client, the property owner, and the Town of Babylon to design the site for the first major ground-mounted commercial solar array in the Town.

St. John's Annex Cemetery

Client/Owner: St. Charles Cemetery

Description: Design, and construction support and inspection services for this 80-acre expansion of an existing cemetery as part of Phase I. The program included the development of a new entrance road and internal driveways, site stormwater drainage system, irrigation system supply well and electric service. Phase II of the project involved site planning for a new administration building. This involved rain-garden style site drainage, staff and visitor parking for 140 cars, and a landscape plan employing a native plant palette. This was designed to LEED Gold requirements.

St. Charles Cemetery Expansion, Phases I & II

Client/Owner: Town of Hempstead

Location: Seaford, NY

Description: Preliminary and final design to raise roadway elevations to mitigate frequent tidal flooding due to sea level rise that occurs in this low-lying area adjacent to canals connected to Long Island’s Great South Bay. Existing drainage systems were evaluated to improve pipe capacity and mitigate flooding from average storm events. Tide check valves were designed on all storm drainage pipes that discharge into adjacent canals to mitigate roadway and property flooding. GPI also provided full-time construction inspection and support services.

Narraganset Avenue Road Raising

Client/Owner: Greater Jamaica Development Corporation

Location: Jamaica, Queens, NY

Description: Design to improve two parking lots involving replacing pavement, rectifying drainage deficiencies, parking optimization, and traffic flow improvements. This project followed New York City’s ‘Sustainable Streets’ movement to incorporate landscaping, such as trees and native plants; energy efficient products including LED lighting; recyclable materials that included stabilized mix-in-place asphalt; and various other ‘green’ products such as Silva Cells for trees and porous pavement for drainage.

Greater Jamaica Parking Lots 2 & 3

Client/Owner: Stony Brook University

Location: Stony Brook, NY

Description: As part of this state-of-the-art facility, GPI was responsible for design of the site roadways, parking lots, pedestrian pathways, drainage systems, site utilities, and sanitary systems. The project received LEED Platinum certification. Specifically, the design addressed sustainable storm water collection and recharge methods including bioswales, sediment filtering devices, and an underground cistern to collect roof water. GPI also provided construction support and inspection services as required.
