MAYER HORN JOINS GREENMAN-PEDERSEN, INC.
Babylon, NY -- Mayer Horn, P.E., PTOE, PTP recently joined Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI), an engineering, planning and construction inspection/management firm, as senior transportation planner in its Babylon, New York office.
Mr. Horn, a professional engineer, professional traffic operations engineer, and professional transportation planner, has over 40 years of planning and engineering experience that includes managing transportation and logistics planning studies. Mr. Horn has also managed simulation analysis of transit signal priority (TSP) and bus rapid transit (BRT) projects in the New York metropolitan area. Mr. Horn has worked with many transportation agencies throughout the tri-state area, and spent portions of his career with New York State Department of Transportation, Tri-State Regional Planning Commission, New York City Transit Authority, Port Authority of NY&NJ and New Jersey Transit. With Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., he will be working on the firm’s current planning projects such as the Mastic/Shirley Peninsula Evacuation Study for the Town of Brookhaven and the BRT simulation analyses of transit signal priority for the Town of Babylon. He did similar work for NYCDOT and MTA/NYCT on Victory Boulevard and Bay Street in Staten Island, NY.
Prior to joining Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., Mr. Horn was with KLD Associates, in Commack, NY, who are simulation modeling specialists and leaders in development of emergency evacuation plans. He earned an MBA in management for engineers from Baruch College, New York, NY, an MS in civil engineering from MIT; and a BCE from The Cooper Union. He is also an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association, Intelligent Transportation Society of New York, Long Island Transportation Management (Chairman) and the Long Island Association Transportation Committee. Mr. Horn resides in Dix Hills, NY.
