Bowie Gridley Architects Flint Hill School

GPI provided engineering design services for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for Flint Hill School.

Following an evaluation of multiple HVAC approaches, an air-cooled variable refrigerant volume heat recovery system paired with dedicated outdoor air systems was selected to provide energy-efficient heating, cooling, and ventilation throughout the 40,000-SF facility. GPI designed for a collaborative learning environment with classrooms, learning centers, laboratories, a cafeteria, and a gymnasium. Specialized exhaust systems were incorporated within the Maker Lab to remove heat, dust, and fumes generated by equipment and hands-on learning activities, supporting a safe and functional instructional space.

This project received the AIA | Nova Design Award.
