Dennis Road over Little Sister Creek Bridge Replacement

About the Project

The Erie County Department of Public Works is progressing the Dennis Road over Little Sister Creek (BIN 3327510/BR 183-01) Bridge Replacement project. Situated within the Town of Evans, the bridge is located between Lake Shore Road and Bennett Road.

Work will include the full replacement of the existing bridge which was built in 1929. The new bridge will be designed using current design and safety standards. Safety improvements will include a widened bridge to incorporate the addition of two 4’-0” wide shoulders, and steel bridge railings. The new bridge will also include a longer span to avoid affecting water levels during storm events. Proposed roadway work will be limited to approach pavement reconstruction that will accommodate the new bridge.

A full detour is anticipated to perform this work. Dennis Road will be closed between Lake Shore Road and Bennett Road except for local residential traffic.

This project is funded by the Locally Administered Federal Aid (LAFA) program through the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and includes 95% Federal and 5% County funds under Project Identification Number (PIN) 5764.89.
