Q & A

Can you describe a project that you worked on that embodies the spirit of "Many Talents, One Firm"?

Yes, the pursuit of the Madison Avenue project in Albany. In 2019, NYS OGS let an RFQ that the Albany branch pursued. This project pursuit required input and participation from every department at the Albany branch. Due to the location of the mechanical room under Madison Avenue, the nature of the problem (salt infiltration and associated deterioration of structure and equipment), The Traffic, Roadway, Land Development, MEP and Structural groups were all involved in the preparation of the proposal, short-list presentation, and the successful award of the project to GPI. The way the roadway crossed over the mechanical room was similar in construction to a bridge. All the departments joined in the pursuit with an enthusiasm that carried us through to winning the project. I cannot speak highly enough about the team or the experience. Most of all, I had a branch manager that believed in my talents and ability.

Which strategic objective resonates with you the most?

Employee Satisfaction. Over the years, I have worked for many employers. GPI is unique in this regard and I believe it has made this an amazing place to work and thrive.

Why did you choose this career?

This career chose me. I was attracted to doing many things, but in the end, I came to engineering and worked my way up through management. Others saw my talents and abilities long before I did.
