Vice President & Director of Business Development Edmund Snyder III, PE, Named NYSATE 2026 Statewide Transportation Professional of the Year
ALBANY, NY — GPI Vice President and Director of Business Development, Edmund Snyder III, PE, has been named the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers (NYSATE) 2026 Statewide Transportation Professional of the Year, and Section 1 Transportation Professional of the Year.
Selected from nominees across NYSATE’s 11 regions, Ed was recognized for his ongoing commitment to the transportation industry and his active involvement in NYSATE Section 1. Through his leadership, dedication, and continued service, he has helped advance NYSATE’s mission by supporting professional development and educational initiatives that benefit transportation professionals across New York.
Ed has been an active and enthusiastic member of NYSATE for more than a decade. Most recently he served as an Institute of Engineering evaluator at the NYSE Conference 83, where he reviewed technical presentations and worked directly with presenters to provide constructive feedback and guidance, helping to ensure presentations met accreditation standards. In addition to his technical contributions, Ed was a presentation moderator, assisted in coordinating the conference golf outing and one of the conference’s evening networking events. His willingness to contribute in a variety of roles reflects his ongoing commitment to NYSATE and his dedication to enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
At the section level, Ed plays a key role in coordinating the annual Bocce tournament, managing scheduling, logistics, and overall execution. Beyond his professional contributions, he is also a councilman for the Town of Charlton Town Board, a founding member of the Albany Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers and Past President, and a member of the Saratoga County Highway Superintendents Association.
Ed is also committed to community engagement and STEM outreach. He volunteers with the Future City Competition and supports organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together Saratoga and local youth groups.
