GPI Promotes Caitlyn Hemmes, P.E., to Director of Engineering for Western New York

Buffalo, NY—Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is proud to announce the promotion of Caitlyn Hemmes, P.E., to Director of Engineering for the firm’s Western New York operations. In her new role, Ms. Hemmes will lead a multidisciplinary team of 16 engineers, designers, and technicians across GPI’s Buffalo and Rochester offices.

Ms. Hemmes is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York, Mississippi, and Florida, and has been a valued member of GPI since 2018. After relocating to Western New York in 2023, she quickly became instrumental in advancing the firm’s regional portfolio, delivering high-impact infrastructure solutions and fostering a culture of professional growth and collaboration.

“Caitlyn’s leadership and technical expertise have been key to our continued success in Western New York,” said Joseph Nemmer, P.E., Branch Manager. “I’m excited to see this group growing in terms of staff, projects, talent, and structure.”

GPI’s Western New York Branch provides highway, bridge/culvert, civil, and structural engineering services as well as land surveying and land planning services to municipalities, counties, state agencies and authorities throughout the WNY Region. The Branch’s WNY footprint includes offices in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Jamestown, and Rochester.

Nationally recognized for its excellence, GPI is currently ranked #25 in Transportation and #10 in Bridge Engineering by Engineering News-Record (ENR).
