GPI has delivered in-person training since 2012 for the National Highway Institute (NHI), the training arm of the Federal Highway Administration, reaching over 20,000 adult learners over 1,000+ courses. Using a team of over 25 expert instructors drawn from in-house and subconsultant staff, GPI has delivered over 600 Structures training courses over this period, including all federally mandated bridge inspection courses.
Under three consecutive Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts and several individual task orders, GPI has delivered the following training courses nationwide:

Other specialized services provided under these contracts include:
- Meeting Facilitation for the FHWA/AASHTO Bridge Multi-Hazard Design and Post-Hazard Inspection Task Forces
- Update and Modernization of the Virtual Bridge Inspection (VBI) and Virtual Tunnel Inspection (VTI) Software Programs
In addition to course delivery, GPI was also commissioned to convert three of NHI’s most popular in-person courses to support delivery in a virtual classroom environment: “Bridge Inspection Refresher Training” (FHWA-NHI-130053, 3 days), “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” (FHWA-NHI-130055, 10 days), and “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers” (FHWA-NHI-130056, 5 days). GPI delivered the virtual version of the Bridge Inspection Refresher Training course over 50 times during the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching over 1,200 adult learners during a period when in-person training was suspended.
