National Highway Institute Nationwide Delivery of Structures Training Courses

GPI has delivered in-person training since 2012 for the National Highway Institute (NHI), the training arm of the Federal Highway Administration, reaching over 15,000 adult learners. Using a team of over 25 expert instructors drawn from in-house and subconsultant staff, GPI has delivered over 600 Structures training courses over this period, including all federally mandated bridge inspection courses.

As evidence of their deep technical expertise and expert application of proven adult learning techniques, 17 of GPI’s instructors have been recognized as “Instructors of Excellence” by NHI, more than any other contractor.

Under two consecutive Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contracts and four individual task orders, GPI has delivered the following training courses nationwide:

In addition to course delivery, GPI was also commissioned to convert three of NHI’s most popular in-person courses to support delivery in a virtual classroom environment: “Bridge Inspection Refresher Training” (FHWA-NHI-130053, 3 days), “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges” (FHWA-NHI-130055, 10 days), and “Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers” (FHWA-NHI-130056, 5 days). GPI delivered the virtual version of the Bridge Inspection Refresher Training course over 50 times during the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching over 1,200 adult learners during a period when in-person training was suspended.
