The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is one of the largest transit systems in the United States. Comprised of buses, commuter rail, subways, and trolleys, the system covers a 2,200 sq mile region.
GPI provided engineering and surveying services to support SEPTA’s R3-2 and R3-3 track improvement projects aimed at returning sections of rail to service. Project work included structural analysis for bridge demolitions, equipment loading evaluations, construction stakeout, and certified as-built surveys, including Positive Train Control (PTC) data collection. GPI ensured safe demolition operations, verified structural integrity for construction access, and delivered precise survey documentation aligned with SEPTA and Pennsylvania State Plane standards.
