Every four years, a GIS habitat map of the study area is updated.

Reclaimed Water Aquifer Recharge Study

Salinity Barrier Removal

Description: GPI was contracted to assist the Tampa Bay Estuary Program and Southwest Florida Water Management District with a comprehensive inventory of salinity barriers in Tampa Bay and to study and design the removal of a salinity barrier in Old Tampa Bay to restore natural hydrologic flow between tidal tributaries and the Bay. The barrier chosen for removal was at the terminus of Channel 5 in Pinellas County, abutting the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport, in Feather Sound.
