GPI Project Controls Manager Ameya Talekar Presents at the 2025 Waterfront Conference
On Wednesday, May 14, Project Controls Manager Ameya Talekar presented at the 2025 Waterfront Conference at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, NY. The Engineering PDH session, “Delivering Resilience Infrastructure Through Emerging Technology and Contract Incentives,” covered critical insights for long-term infrastructure.
The New York-New Jersey region’s climate infrastructure projects are some of the most complex and forward-thinking in the world. New projects are leveraging new delivery, design, and construction innovations that serve as models and reflect opportunities for the future. The panel explored the technical complexities of building coastal resiliency infrastructure and how teams are using a combination of emerging technology and contract incentives to come up with novel ways of solving complex problems. The discussion included the implications for long-term infrastructure maintenance as well as the policies needed to better unlock innovation in delivery, along with specific next steps for government and opportunities for regional leadership.
Talekar represented the Jacobs-GPI Joint Venture team as an expert in emerging technologies in construction on Coastal Resiliency Initiatives for NYC DDC, such as the Brooklyn Bridge – Montgomery Coastal Resiliency project.
The 2025 Waterfront Conference comes at a pivotal moment, exploring a shifting political landscape, evolving funding challenges, and transformative policy changes. With a new administration reshaping federal priorities, the event is an unparalleled opportunity to influence critical conversations and advance solutions to define the future of climate resilience, waterfronts, and coastlines.
